So my friend Joel showed me this quiz site called Sporacle. Mimi and I just completed the pokemon quiz. we got 9/151. joint forces too. we knew some more but we didn't remember the name or how to spell it...
epic fail much?????

and then...we did Canadian Prime Ministers one..you had like 5 mins to name all the past Canadian Prime Ministers...that was kinda epic fail too. the funniest was for Brian Mulroney...but at that time i didn't remember his name...it kinda went like this:

Dorcas: OH OH! that dude!
Mimi: What dude?
Dorcas: The Canadian Idol...host...dude.....'s dad......Ben?!?!
Mimi: OH BRIAN MULRONEY.

then we also did american presidents...and i actually rememebered something from grade 12 social studies!

Dorcas: OOHHH OOOHH! Wood...Woood....14 points! World War I! WOODROW WILSON!!!!

I just realised that I haven't blogged much lately at all...it's been pretty busy...now I'm going to be starting Practicum in the grade 1 classroom next week. I am actually going to be a teacher!!!! how exciting!

I got placed in LETHBRIDGE! At Nicholas Sheran Elementary School with a grade 1 class. This is soooo cool. I'm really pumped about it.

Now I'm done my PS1 classes, SO surreal (considering that I missed like 2 weeks out of the 8 weeks due to sickness) I'm so proud that I got through all the in class work and stuff. ^_^ PRAISE GOD!

He always, ALWAYS provides =) Thanks for the prayers!

3 Finals down, one more to go on Monday. YAYYY!

Another New Chapter of my Life

I finally got my placement for my Practicum this semester. (from Nov.12-Dec.17) I'll be teaching grades 5/6 in Vauxhall, which I didn't know existed until yesterday. (apparently it's about an hr northeast of Lethbridge.) Thank God I can still live in my house in Lethbridge...that's something I had hoped for. Although I will have to be carpooled everyday, (and driving in the winter might suck a little) Hopefully it won't be too bad.

I'm kinda excited and nervous because this will be a new experience for me...I've taught grade 2,3,4 before, but never 5 and 6. I mean, I taught grades 5/6 in a sunday school setting at church, but it's not the same.

This will be the start of a new chapter in my life...first taste of the world of teaching.

I haven't dreamt about you for a very long time....but I did today.

I had a dream that my family was over at your house for dinner. Your mom was showing me all these awesome food that she made for us.....you kinda disappeared for a while, but I was told to go to your room and get you. I called out your name....you responded. I peeked into your room...it was exactly as I remembered it...you were practicing your chinese writing or something...and I asked if you can teach me in case I ever have to teach chinese one day. At first you hesitated a little, but I saw you soften up an guided me step by step...I looked up at you and you were smiling.

The next thing I remembered from the dream was that we were taking a walk down to the creek. We just stood there, side by side....We didn't have to talk...we were so happy.....at peace.

then I woke up...and just like that, you were gone. i am wondering what had gone wrong....
                   what if...?

Today as I was drafting again for a fantasy hockey pool..(the first time since the one that you created a couple years ago)....
Memories came flooding back.
I miss you...that's all I have to say..

-John Rutter's "The Lord Bless You and Keep You." That high A...it's soooooo beautiful that it ascends right up to Heaven! =)
-Bach's St.Matthew Passion
-Chopin Piano Concerto No.1 AND 2, 2nd movement. Feels like part of my heart is going to be ripped apart cuz it's sooo good.
-Bach's French Suite in G+

and Joel's atonal version of Dancing Queen.....O_O
